Biography

Napoleon Biggs is the Chief Strategy Officer of the Gravitas Group, the leading mobile marketing agency in Asia.

Napoleon Biggs is a reputed digital marketing evangelist and influential thought leader in emerging communications and advertising trends. He is well-known as hard-hitting host of “Web Wednesday” (www.webwednesday.asia), a community of Asian Digerati that he founded in July 2006. It has grown Asia’s premier networking community for digital media and internet executives, with monthly gatherings and talks in Hong Kong, Beijing, Singapore, Bangkok, Dubai and Ho Chi Minh City.

Prior to joining Gravitas, Biggs was Senior Vice President, Head of Digital Integration at Fleishman-Hillard Asia Pacific where he successfully built a team of digital communications experts serving clients across 18 regional offices. He evangelized the revolutionary role of social media to leading global clients, like Philips, and lead the charge to convert an established public relations firm into an integrated communications consultancy; a move that resulted in FH winning several social media awards and earning previously untapped digital revenues.

Upon completing his Chinese studies in Beijing, Biggs started his career in sports marketing and satellite TV news. When the Internet took off in the late ’90s, he launched the Asia Capacity Exchange, a Web-based B2B platform for trading international telecoms bandwidth. As the move to get online gathered pace, Biggs then co-founded and built a digital marketing consultancy, Web Guru Asia, servicing clients from offices across six Asian cities. His then set up Palava Digital to advise clients on how best to engage consumers, measure performance and generate revenue through social media.

Biggs is also a talented linguist and speaks Mandarin, Japanese, French and Spanish. He holds a bachelor degree in Modern Chinese Studies in University of Leeds and another bachelor degree in Advanced Mandarin in Beijing Foreign Studies University.
